By the time I turned 18, I was already 6'6" and had been stared at and gawked at since I could remember. Having everyone in my hometown treat me like some kind of freak made me shy and self-conscious. I felt guilty for being different.

When I got away to college, I was glad to see that most people were weird enough on their own and barely gave me a second glance. I found some other gay guys on the basketball team and we had some really fun sex, but I was still pretty lonely.

Then one day, I fell in love. It hit me like a ton of bricks! And when he showed an interest, I was the happiest guy alive. We started dating and now we're looking for a place together. As you can imagine, everyone stares at us, gawking, giggling and pointing. But you know what? It just doesn't bother me anymore the way it used to. I guess the first time you fall in love, you realize that what other folks think of you really doesn't mean that much.
