The Crush Arrives 2

It has been my practice to sometimes name the additional art to a job differently than the "main" illustration. Typically, there is one finished drawing that has a detailed background and the characters arranged to best express the totality of the fiction. When I was given an assignment, the basic purpose of the artwork is to entice the reader to delve into the story. So the initial drawing has to encapsulate the general tone, set the proper mood and convey the spirit of the narrative. The "spot" or "satellite" drawings are there to highlight certain scenes but don't in any way explain how the scene fits into the whole. That being said, I was under fire for not paying enough attention to my character's butts, so although it's not a focus of the story, I tried to emphasize the older guy's derrière because spotlighting the younger man's rump was just too obvious. This way I could satisfy and frustrate my critics in a few pen strokes.
