Tripod on the Midway

There were a number of illustrations associated with this particular character, "Tripod," a dwarf with a mean disposition and a ridiculously huge "third leg." Although this isn't my favorite depiction of the surly carnival manager (there are three others), I enjoy the artificial lighting, the banners in the background and the garish stand used in the elephant act being incorporated into the scene. It's colorful, it's horny, and I think that it is evocative of the spirit conveyed in the original fiction on which it was based. Now if only I can get my hands on a willing dwarf so that I can examine some of the physiological aspects of their anatomy up close....
