Kick The Can 2

I was forever criticized for not making my people "pretty" enough, but I was much more concerned with giving them character and expression, a sense of individuality as well as a plausible reaction to whatever situation I was putting them in. I was constantly on the lookout for occasions wherein I could portray a personal motive through posture and facial features. A picture like this one, where each of the three figures displays a very unique reaction to what's going on, gave me the opportunity to offer three different perspectives for the viewer to identify with. They could take the part of the aggressive foot-jammer, the inconvenienced target or the aroused/startled witness. This was a "part 2", the initial illustration was a towel-snapping in a communal shower.
