"This small spot illustration was added as the third part of the 'Tangerine Dream' trio of drawings. This particular image was kind of a surprise "shake 'em up" for the readers of the accompanying fiction piece. Typically the narrator is sketchily described so I thought it might deliver a jolt to the boys to discover that one of the characters they were whacking-off to for the bulk of the story turned out to be Asian. Give the boys an opportunity to question their prejudices and misconceptions. In the previous two drawings this guy's face wasn't shown and because of the crosshatch technique his ethnicity was masked. Pretty cool, huh?"
